She’d spent the night at his house that night.
Nneoma and Akwang, they’d slept in each other’s arms, on his matrimonial bed till the next morning. She’d left her phone in her house, not bothered about how many people were going to call her. She was comfortable in the arms of Akwang , and whatever anyone thought didn’t matter anymore.
Akwang sucked in his breath sharply when he felt her lips on him. It was 5:40 AM in the morning and they’d had over three rounds of sex. When he could stand no more, he gently pushed her away and sought to pleasure her in same fashion. They made love tenderly, each content to study the lines and contours of the other’s body, to find the erogenous points. Akwang tongued the back of Nneoma’s knees until she squirmed, then nipped his way up her thighs. When he pulled her on top and entered her again, Nneoma thought she’d died from the rapture. Then he began moving his hips in a sensual motion that created friction against the heart of her desire. As the heat spread and shattered into a thousand starburst of delight, Nneoma trembled into his arms and cried out his name.
His climax followed with a force that shook him to the core.
They were both tired and weak. Her legs shook rapidly as she walked to the bathroom to clean up. Her eyes caught Editi’s panty and stuffs, but she didn’t care. She freshened up and when she saw that the atmosphere was still calm and dark, she said to Akwang, “I’ll miss you very much.”
“My paternity leave starts in two weeks, I’ll spend the entire three months with you. I am supposed to visit Editi, but I won’t.” He said to her. She was happy, it was all she wanted; Sex, pregnancy and a man to grace her bed anytime she wanted it.
She kissed him for minutes before she left for her house, as soon as she tried to click her door open, she realized someone had already put a key behind it. Her heart sunk. She didn’t have an idea whom it was. She rang the doorbell and waited patiently to see whom it was.
Jackson opened the door immediately, and when he did, she’d almost passed out from shock.
“Where have you been?” He asked.
She’d thought of what to say to him. And then something came to her mind immediately, “I went for tarry night at a friend’s church.” She said.
Jackson chuckled and shook his head, “Tarry night on a Monday? Yesterday was Sunday, today is Monday.”
“What do you mean Jacky? Her church is holding a program and I was invited. The program is for women who want babies.” She said boldly and walked passed him into the house.
“Is that why you left your phone?” Jackson asked.
“I didnt want interruption in Jehovah’s present. And I never knew you would ever call my line.” She said meanly.
“I am sorry my joy,” Jackson said, “I was stressed out with lots of things. So stressed.” He knelt down before her. “I am back now.” He said sincerely. “Just give me time to sort things out at the office, by December, you and I will leave for Australia and have a good time together over there.” He stood to his feet and walked to her, “I know your problems, they bother me too my love. Sincerely speaking, I haven’t been myself since the day I left here out of anger. I have been thinking about a lot of things my joy. I want to give you a new life. Let’s ask Jehovah to guide us through.”
Nneoma was mute for a while, she stared at him like she’d seen a ghost.
“What do you mean by giving me a new life?” She asked, looking confused.
“I want to change things baby, just give me time to sort things out at work. From next year, I won’t be going offshore for this long anymore, I will be staying at work for at least, two weeks, just like your friend’s husband.” He said and stood to his feet. He wanted to be with her, but she was tired of his face. She didn’t want him.
He kissed her on the cheeks and she’d already known what it was going to lead to. And she wasn’t ready to give in, not at that moment. Her legs were already hurting from the love makings she’d had with Akwang, and she was already tired.
“I am sick, very sick.” She said weakly.
“Will it stop us from making love before I can drive you to the hospital?” He asked.
“Yes, it will. I am tired. I prayed all through in church, I am tired.” She said weakly and walked away.
