“Don’t tell me, let me guess,” Editi said, closing her eyes thoughtfully, while her husband Akwang stood by the kitchen sink, where she was stirring butter, brown sugar and vanilla essence, folding his arms across his chest and staring at her in anticipation. Her hair was tied back into a ponytail with a yellow yarn, and she wore black shorts and a soft old green shirt of Akwang’s. Her legs were smoothly stylish in a Mickey Mouse flip flop.
“Your company is transferring you back to the UK?” Editi asked. Akwang shrugged stylishly, “Not that.”
“Hmm. I can’t guess,” she said abruptly.
“I have seen an apartment at Safari Estate.”
Editi covered her mouth in amazement. “Safari Estate? That’s huge baby!” she said laughing.
“I told you I was never going to renew our rent here. We need a place that is comfortable and large, so that our babies would have enough space to play around.”
“Talking about babies,” she said, as she moved to the sink slowly, washed her hands and held his tie. She had never seen him in a suit before, he looked different. More masculine, but younger. “You’re going offshore in a few weeks, and I hope you’d drop one baby in here before you leave,” she said seductively as she pulled him to herself.
“Edi, we’ve been married for seven months, and having a baby is too quick. Let’s enjoy a bit longer,” he said softly.
“People might begin to say that I am barren. Your mother…”
He placed his first finger softly against her lip. “My mother isn’t that kind of woman. She is educated and highly placed,” Akwang said.
She became calm and hugged him tight. Her glowing fair skin touched his hard chocolate skin and all he felt was a sensation that he first felt on their first date at the Swiss restaurant at Victoria Island. He looked at her, a long measuring look, and then his eyes softened, and dropped.
“I will keep making love to you, baby will come sooner or later.”
“Sooner,” she said softly.
After that, Akwang spoke no more. He only kissed her until he was tired. And after he listened to the news and worked for a few hours on his laptop, he helped her stir the batter for cupcakes.
“How many are we making this time?” Akwang asked as he stirred the batter.
“For Five hundred guests.”
“That’s many,” he yawned.
“If you’re tired, you can go to sleep. I can do this all by myself. I am almost done. I will leave the washing for Abas, the maid.”
“She works everyday now?” Akwang asked.
“She works on days we have lots of works to do.”
“Okay. I hope she helps?”
“Of course, that’s why I am paying her fifteen thousand naira every month,” she said.
They baked the cake together until 1a.m and when the cupcakes were ready, Akwang helped in packing twelve in each carton.
They had their bath together in the shower and kissed each other goodnight.
The morning bell rang at exactly 6a.m, and Akwang and Editi were too tired to get themselves off the bed.
He turned to her calmly and whispered, “I’m horny.”
She smiled sensually. “You’re not serious AK, are you?”
“Come here to your husband, come do your duties.”
He began to touch her body, she shivered a bit before she could let his weighty, masculine body cover her like a shield. He had the finest body she’d ever seen. His teeth are white and spacy.
His ebony skin became sweaty as it felt sticky on her own body. She pulled off her panty gently first, before she stripped off her nightwear.
“Eat me raw as you like,” Editi said calmly in a low tone.
He began to kiss her again, and then he penetrated her carefully. She moaned softly against his ears and just as he reached his climax and fell back on her sweaty body, her phone rang. He gave an audible sigh of relief and stretched his hand to take the phone.
“Miriam Bride,” he said. She sat up immediately.
“The bride, the bride!” she said repeatedly as she picked the call.
“Hello Miriam? Good morning to you,” she paused, then continued, “I will soon be on my way to the reception venue,” she said and hung up the call.
